Book Review: Serpent & Dove
by Shelby Mahurin
I’ll admit it took me a little while to start this book. It’s been on my “to be read” or TBD list for a while and the synopsis wasn’t really enticing me that much despite the great reviews. However, once I picked it up and got into it, I was hooked. I finished this book in just a couple of days. I thought it was a cute love story, I love a good enemies-to-lovers book and this one had just the right amount of slow-burn. I once read that chemistry is shown in stories when the two character are able to change each other and this novel was able to display that perfectly.
Not only was this a great love story but it had an interesting plot as well. I love it when the protagonist have to face a seemly insurmountable evil. I think it opens up the plot to a lot of possibilities. It’s also nice when you, as the reader, have no idea how the story will end, or even how it could possibly have a happy ending.
I have not read the next books in this series but I’m looking to forward to finding out the answers to all my questions.
